Mort Smith

On July 25, 2021, Mort passed away from a stroke.

Mort has been a member of the club since 1997. His club car is a 1933 Ford Cabriolet. 

He has held the office of Secretary 2002, Show Chairman 2004, Assistant Show Chairman 2005 and People's Voice for many years.

Mort is single, and has been with his significant other, Delores, for 20 years.  That’s like being married!

Mort has a daughter and son and two grandchildren.  Delores has three children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  They also have a dog named Rusty.

Mort is retired from UCLA Medical Center and Delores is also retired from Honeywell/Garrett Corporation. 

From 1953-1957, Mort raced coupes and roadsters at El Mirage Dry Lakes and Bonneville.  From 1952-1960, he was a drag racer. Now he enjoys collecting antiques, that includes cars.
