John Kiley
In 1998, John came into the club as an Associate Member. In August 2010, he became an Active Member. Now since October 2019, he is an Associate Member of the club.
His club car is a
1932 Ford Hiboy Roadster.
From 2013-2017, John held the office of Club President and in 2012, he was Vice President.
He also owns a 1968 Don Long front engine top fuel dragster. This car was owned in the late 1960’s by long time L. A. Roadster Member, Bill Stecker. Bill just happens to be his uncle. The car was restored for Uncle Bill.
After 25 years, John retired from the California Department of Corrections. He now has time to spend with his two Shelties; Shawn and Howie, and work on his toys.
His hobbies include showing and cacklefesting his digger.
Since 2009, John has coordinated the Cacklefest at the L.A. Roadster Show. It has had a great response from participants and spectators and will continue for years to come.
What it means to be a member of the L. A. Roadsters: Being part of the history and tradition is a wonderful honor. Being around the fathers of rodding origins and learning and carrying on the hot rod tradition is just bitchin!
