Bob Northcott

Bob was an Associate member of the club from 2003-2005. And in 2005 became an Active member. His club car is a 1936 Ford Cabriolet.

Bob has been married to his wonderful wife Melinda for 33 years. They have been together since 1984. They have four grown sons, three grandsons and one granddaughter. The family dog was rescued by Bob and is now his buddy for life.

Bob has been involved with street rods for the past 30 years.  It all started with the 1923 “T” Bucket that he built and won many awards with.  Then he purchased a “red” 1930 Ford 2-door Sedan so he could take the family along and hold Melinda’s luggage.  Soon he needed something with a bigger trunk to hold Melinda’s growing luggage collection.  So, he bought a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. Problem solved:  ’40 coupes are well known for their large trunks.  He did a complete overhaul on the car and painted it “red” with white fenders and a tequila sunrise on the side.  The car won many awards and was featured in Hotline News.  In 1992, at the Lake Havasu Run, Bob purchased a “red” 1932 Hi-boy Roadster.  He sold it about 2 years after the 1994 earthquake.  In 2003, he sold the ’40 Ford Coupe and purchased a teal blue 1933 Ford Cabriolet.  But the Cabriolet wasn’t “red”, so he soon purchased a 1933 maroon-red roadster so he could join the club. In March 2008, Bob sold the teal blue cabriolet.

In 2013, Bob found the car of his dreams; a 1936 Ford Cabriolet.

Bob has been affiliated with many car clubs in the past.  He became a member of the L.A. Roadsters in 2005 with his 1933 Ford Roadster.

Bob is a General Contractor and owner of Hammerhead Construction Company.  He’s retired now, but keeps very busy in his garage and on their ranch in Montana.  Bob and Melinda are enjoying their vacation home that they built in Absarokee, Montana in 2006-2007.  Melinda is a retired Educator.  She was an elementary school teacher, vice principal, school physiologist, and college professor.  Melinda was the Club’s Newsletter Editor from 2005-2008 and 2010.

What it means to be a member of the
L. A. Roadsters:  What an honor it is to be part of such a legacy.  To be associated and uphold the tradition of a club that was established over 50 years ago!  We are always recognized in our time honored traditional dress of red shirts and white pants, in any part of the country that we drive our roadsters.
